Purpose/Role Statement
Examines engineering drawings and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation. Verifies applicable PDM documentation is also complete and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
1)Review drawings and designs for ASME, Corp and Site specific requirements.
2)Assist engineering when possible in correcting modeling errors.
3)Work within the PDM system to verify design conformance to PDM requirements.
4)Create redlines of engineering drawings for use on change requests.
5)Understand and instruct users on the proper methods for development of drawings, design information and PDM requirements.
6)Represents organization as one of the prime contacts for CAD issues.
7)Develops and trains users on CAD related topics.
8)Works with various groups to document their designs.
9)Develop an understanding of the Corp. PDM system and release process.
Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area supported.
Qualifications
Candidate possesses a 2 year Degree with 3 plus years experience in CAD design using a variety of CAD tools, mainly SolidWorks but with some experience in AutoCAD and ProEngineer and experience in the field of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Well organized, self motivated with a good knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office products.
